These 10 tips for praying as a single mom have been life-changing for me. I pray they help you, also!
Understand why you pray.
Psalm 145:18 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

Know who you are praying to.
Romans 8:15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Click here to learn more bout this.

Carve out time to pray.
I recommend getting up early, even if it is very early. Click here to learn the first step in making time for God.
Pray spontaneously.
1Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Teach your kids the importance of prayer.
Let them know that praying helps you to be a supportive and loving mom.
Be honest with your requests and concerns.
Hold nothing back! According to Hebrews 4:15, we have a Savior who can sympathize with our weakness. Admitting our need for God reinforces the relationship we have as His daughter, totally dependent on Him.
Grow in patience.
Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Practice waiting on God without grumbling or complaining. This may require confessing that you lack patience. Admit to God if you are struggling with this virtue and ask Him for help. Think of reasons why He is trustworthy when you get discouraged.
Be willing to accept God’s will, even if it is not what you would do or how you would do it.
Be honest. Are you truly willing to let your life glorify God in His way?
In John 9:1-12, the disciples asked Jesus what sin caused the man to be blind. He answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”
The blind man’s suffering ultimately brought glory to God by displaying His power.
When I am struggling, the source of my angst is related to an unwillingness to submit all of my life to the Lord.
If you are struggling with fully submitting your life to God, earnestly confess this to God. Remember, according to His promise in 1John 1:9, God is faithful and just to forgive and purify you from unrighteousness!
Confession and turning from our sin lead to real change from the inside out.
Acknowledge God in all your ways.
Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Pray about everything.
Philippians 4:6: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
When is say “everything”, I mean everything!
Here are some examples of what to pray about from my own experience, in no particular order:
Physical strength
Mental and emotional strength
Godly wisdom (without doublemindedness…see James 1:5)
Ability to love each child well, helping him with what he/she needs
Understanding priorities
Provision, in all things financial, opportunities, etc.
Endurance
Strength to stay alert and sober-minded
Grow in the grace and knowledge of God
Confessions of distrust, doubt, envy, jealousy (to name a few)
A bridled tongue/self-control in my speech
Thanksgiving for “little things” I once took for granted
Thanksgiving for my salvation and eternal hope in Christ
A renewed mind
